Dr. Thenkutti Dushmanda Mahesh de Silva

Medical Director & Director of Hela Moksha

"Every person already carries the knowledge of their own healing within themselves. My task is to carefully accompany them on this path."

Dr. Thenkutti is an experienced Ayurveda physician from Sri Lanka and has been leading Hela Moksha Villa for over 15 years. He comes from an Ayurveda tradition deeply rooted in the Malewana lineage, one of the most respected authentic Ayurveda lines in Sri Lanka. Within this lineage, he continues to teach Hela Wedakama in the 19th generation, integrating Buddhist ethics and spiritual practice.

Dr. Thenkutti received his medical training at the Medicine College of the Buddhist Ayurveda Order in Malewana and works closely with experts there to ensure the tradition is conveyed authentically, thoroughly, and practically.

His focus is on the treatment of chronic diseases, psychosomatic disorders, and complementary therapies for cancer. The medicines used are prepared in a traditional pharmaceutical facility within the Buddhist college – entirely plant-based, handcrafted, and potent.

Hela medicine is not only about treatment but about a deep understanding of the human being, in their energetic, physical, and mental-spiritual interplay. Dr. Thenkutti brings this knowledge to every consultation, combining calm clarity, extensive experience, and intuitive depth.

Guests from around the world appreciate his calm presence, medical expertise, and intuitive understanding of individual healing processes.
