Our story
Tradition meets new paths

The origin of Hela Moksha
The present-day Hela Moksha Ayurveda Clinic in Sri Lanka has its origins in the traditional Moksha Villa, which, under the leadership of Dr. Thenkutti, has been a place of Ayurveda healing, Panchakarma treatments and regeneration for more than 15 years.
Rooted in the millennia-old wisdom of Hela Wedakama – the original Ayurveda of Sri Lanka – guests from all over the world found new strength, inner balance, and sustainable health here.
Encounter of Tradition & New Vision
During one of Sri Lanka’s most challenging times – in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic crisis – Manuela Harnisch visited the Moksha Villa for the first time.
Together with Dr. Thenkutti, she became actively involved in supporting families in need and gained profound insights into the Buddhist and Ayurvedic culture of Sri Lanka – aspects that often remain hidden from ordinary travelers.
In recognition of her deep connection, she was given the name “The White Elephant” – a Sri Lankan symbol of wisdom, purity, and inner strength.
From this meaningful encounter, a vision was born: to combine the healing tradition of Hela Wedakama with a modern, international approach.
Thus, in July 2025, the Hela Moksha Ayurveda Clinic emerged from the Moksha Villa – today an officially registered Private Limited Company in Sri Lanka.
Our Commitment
We are pleased to announce that our clinic is now officially certified by the state authorities. This recognition affirms the high quality, professionalism, and authenticity of our work and underscores our dedication to providing guests with effective Ayurvedic therapies and authentic Panchakarma treatments.
We use only pure, natural Ayurvedic medicine, carefully prepared according to ancient traditional formulas and completely free from chemical additives — ensuring the highest quality and effectiveness of our treatments.
Hela Moksha is a young and growing Ayurveda clinic, and we look forward to sharing more guest experiences online in the future.
Although Hela Moksha is a young establishment, our medical practice is backed by many years of professional experience.
Dr. Thenkutti has been caring for international and local clients for more than 15 years, most of whom come to us through personal recommendation.
Personal Guidance – From the Very Beginning
At our Ayurveda clinic in Sri Lanka, individual and holistic support is at the center – from the first consultation, throughout the Panchakarma cure, to two months of online aftercare.
German-speaking psychological support for emotional challenges is also part of our offer. In this way, we ensure that healing processes are not only effective during the cure but are also sustainably anchored in everyday life.
Looking Ahead – The Eco Hela Moksha Ayurveda Clinic
Our next big step: Dr. Thenkutti’s vision – the construction of the new Eco Hela Moksha Ayurveda Clinic in Aluthgama.
The clinic is being built in the traditional architectural style of royal Ayurveda clinics, combined with sustainability, natural materials, and the special energy of a Hela Wedakama healing center.
Here, we are creating a unique retreat where Buddhist tradition, authentic Ayurvedic medicine, cultural depth, and modern needs come together in perfect harmony.
Invitation to Co-Create
For the completion of our new clinic, we invite partners, guests, and supporters to become part of this special vision.
Through advance bookings, cooperations, and partnerships, we are shaping the final steps toward the opening together.
Be part of our vision and accompany us on the journey to the
opening of the Eco Hela Moksha Ayurveda Clinic in Sri Lanka.
