Introduction to the Hela Wedakama doctrine of salvation

Immerse yourself in the original healing art of Sri Lanka. Hela Wedakama is a millennia-old medical tradition rooted in Buddhist philosophy and natural medicine. You will learn the fundamentals of this authentic healing art – its principles, its spiritual depth, and its connection to the elements.

As part of our Ayurveda therapy training , participants learn not only the traditional applications but also practical safety standards for everyday treatment:

• Hygiene training: Proper handling of materials, premises, and treatment equipment to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and health.

• Emergency management: Knowledge and practical exercises for medical emergencies, first aid measures and safe action during treatment.

In this way, we ensure that our graduates can work professionally, responsibly, and safely .

Ayurvedic herbal medicine: preparation & effects

You will gain in-depth knowledge of local medicinal plants, their processing into oils, pastes, powders, and teas, and their targeted application. Particular emphasis is placed on the effects of the plants on doshas, organs, and tissues.

Application knowledge: Oils, plants & powders

Which oils and plants are used for which ailments? What is the correct dosage? You'll learn the practical use of a wide variety of substances—from traditional herbal oils to cleansing powder mixtures.

Ayurvedic treatments

Body Synchronous Massage

This classic full-body oil massage is performed synchronously by two therapists. The goal is a profound harmonization of energies and holistic relaxation.

Intensive body massage

A powerful, deep-acting massage to relieve tension and stimulate energy flow. The focus here is on therapeutic effects, supported by individually tailored oils.

Facial, head & foot reflex massage

Gentle, soothing massages of the face, head, and feet with an activating effect on reflex zones. This treatment strengthens the nervous system and promotes mental clarity.

Thermo massage & powder massage

You will learn two effective techniques:

• the application of heated oil (thermo-massage) to relax muscle and tissue tension

• dry powder massage with herbs (Udvartana) for detoxification and skin care

Shirodhara (forehead oil treatment)

One of the most well-known Ayurvedic treatments: The even application of oil to the forehead has a deeply relaxing effect, regulates the nervous system, and promotes mental balance.

Herbal Inhalation, Steam & Flower Bath

Breath-opening herbal inhalations, cleansing steam baths, and relaxing flower baths are used in combination with massages for a holistic cleansing of body and mind.

Nasal cleansing & oil treatments

Treatments such as Nasya (nasal oiling) and Karna Purana (ear oiling) cleanse the sense organs, improve the respiratory system, and strengthen the connection between head and heart.

Introduction to the Marma Technique (short version)

You'll gain an initial insight into working with Marma points – the body's energy centers. Through targeted stimulation, blockages can be released, vitality increased, and healing processes supported.

Body Control, Body Condition & Energetic Balancing

In this session, you will develop your body awareness, posture, and energetic presence as a therapist. You will learn how your inner attitude influences the quality of touch and treatment.

Internship at Moksha Villa

You will apply the massage techniques you have learned under the guidance of experienced Ayurvedic doctors and therapists directly at the Hela Moksha Villa and become familiar with the complete treatment process and all relevant areas of activity.

Our training is flexible – tailored to your schedule:

You can begin the training at any time. You will receive intensive one-on-one instruction and personal support from our Ayurvedic doctors.

👥 Group lessons (max. 6 participants)

We offer training in small groups twice a year. For exchange, collaborative practice, and group processes:

Spring group: April 1 – June 30

Autumn group: 1 September – 30 November

All courses take place at the Hela Moksha Villa, Sri Lanka, as part of a three-month stay – including accommodation and full board.

Learn and live in our Ayurveda clinic – the Hela Moksha Villa in the south of Sri Lanka.

The Hela Moksha Villa is far more than a training center. It is an authentic Ayurvedic clinic where Ayurvedic healing is practiced daily. Nestled amidst tropical nature, experience Ayurveda in its most authentic form – in direct connection with the Sinhalese healing doctrine of Hela Wedakama.

🛏️ Your accommodation:

You'll stay in comfortable single rooms with private bathrooms and a terrace or balcony. The rooms are quiet, comfortable, and designed in harmony with the surroundings. Ideal for retreat and rejuvenation. Should our rooms be fully booked with Ayurvedic guests, additional accommodations are available in a nearby guesthouse . Full board continues to be provided at the Hela Moksha Villa, so you can enjoy all your meals with authentic Ayurvedic cuisine.

Our kitchen prepares freshly prepared Ayurvedic meals daily. Herbal teas and purified water are available at all times.

🏥 Learning & practice location:

Classes take place directly in our Ayurvedic clinic. The doctor-led practice allows for intensive learning phases with real treatment context in therapeutic application.

🌿 Ayurveda Therapy Training – Start 01 April 2026

The first training group will begin on April 1, 2026, at our Ayurveda clinic in Sri Lanka . Participants who prefer individual training can register at any time. Experience a comprehensive three-month training program with medical supervision, daily full board, and an internationally certified qualification.

Price overview

• €5,240 – Early bird bonus for registrations by March 30, 2026, for participants in the first training group on April 1, 2026. (Also applies to individual registrations for individual training until March 30, 2026)

• €6,300 – from 1 April 2026 for all further group or individual training

All prices include accommodation, meals, materials, supervision and certificate.

Payment terms

Deposit: €500 upon booking to reserve the training place.

Remaining payment:

• One-off payment: the remaining amount no later than 6 weeks before the start of training

or

• Installment payment:

  • 50% of the total amount up to 10 weeks before the start

  • Remaining amount up to 6 weeks before start

Examinations & Graduation

At the end of the training, you will be tested both theoretically and practically to confirm your qualification as an Ayurvedic therapist.

📝 Written final test

At the end of the training, there will be a written test in which you will demonstrate the knowledge you have acquired.

If you fail this test on the first attempt, you have the opportunity to retake it once.

👐 Practical final exam

The practical exam takes place directly in the Moksha Villa.

You will demonstrate a complete Ayurvedic treatment, including:

Preparation & follow-up of the client

Professional execution of the massage or application

Hygiene, presence & therapeutic attitude

After passing all exams, you will receive your official international certificate as an Ayurvedic therapist (Hela Moksha).

During these supervised practice phases, you can ask questions about your first patients, constitutional analysis, treatment recommendations, or individual therapy approaches.

This support will help you to put what you have learned into practice safely and soundly.
